How to reduce wrinkles
We must distinguish 2 types of wrinkles because the solutions will be different to treat them:
– Expression lines that can happen very early in life.
– Wrinkles due to sagging skin, which occur over the years.
Expression lines are caused by muscle contraction and will express our emotions.
When they are deep, visible even at rest, they will give the face an annoyed, severe or sad look.
The basis of the treatment is to decrease the contraction of the muscle which is responsible for the wrinkle.
The solution of choice is Botulinum toxin (Botox)
In the event of a deep wrinkle, other techniques can be used to smooth the wrinkle.
Crow’s feet wrinkles:
These are expression lines around the eyes.
The skin in this region is very thin, so they will appear very early in life. Women often interpret them as the first signs of aging. People who work outside and who have clear eyes will tend to permanently squint their eyes and therefore accentuate these wrinkles.
Over time, they will decrease the opening of the eye and form a fold over the eyes over time, which can also extend over the cheekbones.
Why treat them:
They give a tired look and diminish the expression of the look.
How to release these wrinkles:
The basis of the treatment is to reduce the muscle contraction that causes these wrinkles. It is very important to have a harmonious and very natural effect on this area. The solution of choice is botulinum toxin, commonly known as Botox. In our centers we use Vistabel, the 1st toxin to have been marketed. Wrinkles due to sagging skin appear with the loss of skin tone.
The pleated or crumpled appearance is sometimes more marked on the side where one sleeps.
These wrinkles will make the face look sad and tired.
The solutions will depend on the quality of the skin, the degree of sagging, the associated volume losses.
Whether they are expressive or due to sagging, wrinkles will be accentuated by too intense and repeated sun exposure, by nicotine and by dehydration.
In all cases, good skin hygiene will be a key factor in enhancing the effect of the treatment.
